Beautiful four and a half year old, singing ‘super star’ Alaska is ready to find her special forever home.
Since coming in to foster care, Alaska has steadily achieved so many things. She is now toilet and crate trained, has learnt several basic commands, is much more settled throughout the night and walks very nicely on lead. She doesn’t pull, rather, she enjoys taking her time to sniff “everything”. She absolutely loves being in the garden during the day.
Alaska can be a little timid at first, particularly around Male hoomans. However once she does trust someone, she is so affectionate, wanting lots of attention and especially likes being brushed.
It would suit Alaska best to be in a calm environment where someone is home quite a lot. Although she can be left for a few hours, this girl is quite vocal, plus she adores company. One, maybe two other resident dogs at most; any more and she would likely be overwhelmed. Regarding living with children, we’d suggest a family with older children, purely because Alaska is unsure of sudden loud noises (such as toys) or rapid arm movements. She also eats rather fast, even with a slow feeder. So whilst no major issues around manners and her own food, she is still learning that there WILL be regular meals. So, she will also attempt to eat anyone else’s too if she could!
Here is what her foster parents have said:
“This little lady has transformed into a beautiful, loving girl. Far from the scared of everyone and anything (human or animal) one who first arrived. Alaska is a darling who just wants to be loved and cared for”.
Home checks, adoption fee and a contract to neuter will apply. Alaska is up to date with vaccines, flea and worming treatments. Currently in foster Suffolk. Transport help can be arranged. Please contact your area co-ordinators for more info.
