Available to adopt. Alaska, who was a part of the Smarden 18 story
Beautiful five year old singing ‘super star’ Alaska is ready to find her special forever home. She needs an experienced, confident owner(s), who is able to be patient, giving her plenty of time to settle in.
Since being in foster care, Alaska has steadily achieved so many things. She is now toilet and crate trained, has learnt several basic commands, is settled throughout the night without using a crate and walks very nicely on lead. She doesn’t pull, rather, she enjoys taking her time to sniff “everything”. She absolutely loves being outdoors; an active family who enjoys plenty of walking would suit her.
Alaska can be a little timid and shy at first, particularly around Male hoomans. However once she does trust someone, she is so affectionate, wanting lots of attention and especially likes being brushed.
Alaska will benefit from a calm indoors environment, where someone is home quite a lot. Although she can be left for a few hours, she adores company. She would love to live with one other or maybe two, resident dogs to play with. She currently resides and gets on well, with two foster ‘brothers’.
Regarding living with children, we’d suggest a family with older children. Purely because although she has been so good with visiting grandchildren, Alaska is unsure of sudden loud noises (such as toys) or rapid arm movements.
She also eats rather fast, so uses a slow feeder, snuffle mat or games eg kong toys. Whilst no major issues around manners and her own food, she is still learning that there WILL be regular meals. She could also attempt to eat anyone else’s too!
💕Here is what her foster parents have said💕
“This beautiful lady has transformed from the one who first arrived. Once she is properly settled, she is such a lovely affectionate girl who is happy in your company.
In the last six months Alaska has learnt to live in a house for the first time. She has learnt to ask to go out when she needs the toilet, to sleep all night, but play during the day…..all huge steps.
She loves really long walks; she can walk through town just as well as the countryside fields. If you to stop to talk to anyone she will let you know when it’s time to move on again, by joining in with the chatter. Sometimes even a full blown song or howl much to everyone’s surprise!
She can still appear nervous of loud noises or some people if they move too quickly. But this has improved week by week.
Alaska is a darling who just wants to be loved and cared for. She is quite a character and has become quite cuddly too!”
Home check passes and an adoption fee of £200 will apply. Alaska is up to date with vaccines, flea and worming treatments. Currently in foster Suffolk. Transport help can be arranged. Genuine enquiries please, contact your area co ordinators for more info.
